Thinking of different things to blog about do not come easily for me. Usually, I take the time to open my Google Reader once during the month and within the blogs that I follow, I can usually think of an interesting post piggybacking off something my co-workers have wrote. Earlier, I was reading a post by Melissa Edwards.

She states the following: 'I would like to be able to share ideas and hear of possible improvements. We all have different experiences and abilities to bring to the table ... so we need to be able to share our perspectives and views to make all of our creations even better than we can alone.' This statement really hit me. A light bulb went off in my head! Her statement is very true and after thinking about it for a long while, I realized that this may be an outlook I could learn from. What better way to improve my criticism skills that to ask for suggestions and 'improvements' for my blogs.

We are all created differently (thank goodness!!) but together we can all learn from working as a group. Life long learning makes us all stronger in the long run and more able to help the ones around us.

Remembering 9/11/2001

As we reflect on the 10 years since that fateful day in September that changed us all, do you remember where you were and what you were doing?

I was cafeteria manager at one of the local elementary schools in Burlington, I remember one of my employee's getting a call that the first tower had been struct by a plane. I was thinking about how horrific that must be when we watched the second tower get hid by a plane. We were all in shock and in awe of the events that day.

To all the people that died that day, I honor you with a moment of silence. You mattered. To all the ordinary people that went to work that day, to all the first responders, to the policemen, and to all people that came to their aid, I salute you. To the people on Flights 11, 175, 77, & 93, I salute you. My heart, to this day, still breaks for the lives lost and their family members.

I will never forget that day and I still tear up when I hear about it, even now. I did not know anyone involved with this tragedy, but it changed us all...

A Thought for Today and Everyday

"Life is too short. Grudges are a waste of perfect happiness.
Laugh when you can, apologize when you should and let go of
what you can't change. Love deeply and forgive quickly. Take
chances. Give everything and have no regrets. Life is too
short to be unhappy. You have to take the good with the bad.
Smile when you're sad, love what you got, and always remember
what you had. Always forgive, but never forget. Learn from
your mistakes but never regret. People change, and things go
wrong but always remember... life goes on!"
